Modern Saint Living

As a small business ourselves, we were thrilled to collaborate with another small/local business and feature one of her products in our store. Nichole Bainer, Founder of Modern Saint Living, is shaking things up and creating awareness around conscious consumerism, sustainable fashion, and the preservation of our environment. We discovered Modern Saint Living through a mutual friend and felt strongly about her message and the beautiful simplicity of her product. Her Textile Tonic is a non-toxic alternative to extend wears between washes by sanitizing and neutralizing odor causing bacteria. In other words, less washing means less water usage, longer life of your gear and less microfibers entering our waterways. Doing our part for a better tomorrow, one smart product at a time.

We had the pleasure of chatting with Nichole about Modern Saint Living and here’s some of the highlights. Enjoy!

Who is Modern Saint Living? MSL is a sustainable lifestyle brand. 

Was a career in fashion always in the cards for you? 

We would love to hear your story. Yes, since high school! In my senior year I decided I was going to design and sew 18 looks to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The turnout was so inspiring, I knew from that point on I wanted to be a part of the industry. I studied Fashion Merchandising at SUNY Oneonta and studied abroad with FIT. 

Tell us about your products. What was your inspiration? 

All of our products/services are based around a holistic and earth friendly approach. Textile Tonic was born to refresh/ kill bacteria on fabrics without over washing (which releases microfibers into our waterways) specifically from synthetic fibers that saturate the apparel industry. Our services are based around teaching clients how to shop for planet friendly clothing, dressing their unique figure and lifestyle. 

What’s one piece of advice you can leave us with?

Pass on plastic. Scientists estimate we consume approximately a credit card of plastic per week! It can seem nearly impossible to be plastic free but with a little preparation you can really minimize your usage.
